White declares she was "born a cockeyed optimist" and that it is key to her positron attitude. "I got it from my mom, and that never changed," she told People. "I always find the positive."
Green juice and salads are not part of the Betty White diet. "I try to avoid anything green. I think it's working," she told People.
White revealed to People that she keeps her brain stimulated by playing crossword puzzles and card games. She also likes to watch television, including animal documentaries, Jeopardy! and sports, namely golf.
White gets her exercise at home. "I have a two-story house and a bad memory, so I'm up and down those stairs all the time," she previously told Parade. "That's my exercise."
White is a meat eater, declaring on The Late Show with David Letterman, that it's best to "take some wheatgrass, soy paste, and carob, toss in the garbage and cook yourself a big-a** piece of pork," she joked. She makes sure to treat herself, telling Parade that her favorite things to consume are vodka and hot dogs, "probably in that order."
When previously asked by People about her number one tip for a healthy life, she revealed it is having a sense of humor. "Don't take yourself too seriously," she said. "You can lie to others—not that I would—but you cannot lie to yourself."
